‘An instant captured through the lens is an instant relived ad infinitum’
A diverse range of images form the basis of Greg Tansell’s portfolio. His work characterises his belief that random occurrences inform the outcome. His focus is the everyday, documenting elements of nature and changing landscapes to contemplation of the contemporary. He describes his compositions as ‘loose and often ambiguous’.
More recently, Greg’s Barrage Birds photo series led to a published book of images captured on the Fleurieu at Goolwa. The barrage and surrounds provide an ideal environment for many bird species with small wading ponds, eyots, native grasses and reeds. Norfolk Island Pines adjacent to the Barrage offer multiple nesting opportunities.
‘The fluid movement of birds in flight is captivating - their elegance seems effortless. I’m constantly amazed and delighted’.
Greg’s photographic development has included workshops and mentoring programs. He has exhibited locally and interstate, clocking up a raft of merits and awards.
Based in the Fleurieu, South Australia, Greg continues to explore his interest.
